


With all of the exciting new reveals at The Game Awards tonight, this only adds onto the hype of next year. A story of survival, Crimson Desert follows a group of struggling mercenaries and the many characters who cross their paths in the vast continent of Pywel. The title started as the prequel to Black Desert, but during development Pearl Abyss began to create an entirely different storyline and a whole new set of characters. Built on Pearl Abyss’ proprietary, next-gen engine, Crimson Desert will deliver high fidelity graphics and game features, and a highly immersive gameplay experience. Until then, players have a lot of new footage to pore over and a broad release window to mark out some time to explore Pywel. While the name Crimson Desert was originally a region within Black Desert, Crimson Desert is in fact not a sequel, but a whole new IP. There only seems to be one player character fighting at once, occasionally joined by a companion fighting alongside. Pearl Abyss itself has said that it intends to provide more information on the game as the months go by to keep possible new players updated on the process, and when an actual release date might be approaching. However, the trailer footage for Crimson Desert doesn’t look very MMO-y at all.

There hasn’t been an official release date scheduled yet, only with the aforementioned release window putting Crimson Desertout sometime next winter. The biome is composed of Crimsand, Crimsandstone and. This biome can be created during the world generation, otherwise it can appear during Hardmode, in the same way as the Corrupt Desert and Hallowed Desert. The sands of the crimson desert are colored dark gray, with some of them sporting red spots on it. The five minute clip mostly highlighted the game's gorgeous environments and fast-paced combat. Crimson Desert is not the first time that a game has combined single-player narrative content with online multiplayer elements, but with how the game looks in the trailer, one can only imagine what could come as a player dives deeper and deeper into the world of Pywel. The latest gameplay trailer for Crimson Desert was shown during the 2020 Game Awards. Setting it apart from Black Desert, Crimson Desert will include a single-player campaign as well as a more traditional MMORPG structure.
